For the 7 avid, die-hard RBG fans who religiously read every blog post and follow us like groupies on Instagram, thank you. For the rest of the world, 2019 is your chance to jump on the coveted bandwagon and fall in love with Red Brunette Gals. It's kinda hard not to (if we do say so ourselves.)

As in typical RBG fashion, laughter is our hardest and most intense workout.

We've talked about the whole anomaly of New Year's resolutions, and how we don't necessarily regard them as tried and true methods of getting yourself on track. Whether you're trying to stop eating #chicagomix by the computer while you're #blogging, cursing at other drivers during rush hour while you curl your eyelashes, or you're eager to learn the language of Igbo - yes, it's a real language, there doesn't have to be a specific appointed moment to start. Every day can be January 1.

I know that my words enlightened the depths of your soul, but, I think the best way to PREACH! is to practice as well.

RBG is born: First there was a friendship, which advanced a weird fatal attraction between us - minus the boiling of the bunny, which then lead to the conception and birth of #redbrunettegals. Despite how un- G rated that last sentence sounded, I assure you the ending is underwhelming.

We decided one day after working out together, that this was ultimately where we belonged. Unified in sweat, weights, and cursing. Of course, I do the cursing, she does most of the sweating, but the weights, well, actually, she does more too, but.... you get the picture.

So we decided to chronicle the journey by taking pictures of ourselves the first week of Jan 2018, and then every other January thereafter (until we divorced, or quit- whichever came first).

Now, you may not see the difference at all and you may snicker to yourselves while you scratch your heads.

The important thing, and the hardest to accept is that we see it. We feel it. We feed off of it.

Ultimately, last January we decided to step out of our solacement and do something different.

Besides laughing like drunk hyenas daily, we gained energy, confidence, and accountability for ourselves.

Whatever your resolution is, all you need is stick-to-it-ness, and a friend who doesn't question you when the stuff that comes out of your mouth invokes a perma-eye-roll. It also helps when she doesn't get upset when the stuff you say makes her spit out the #proteinshake she's sipping on. The daily game of Charades we play as I try to decipher Clara's Colombian to English translations shows our level of commitment. Of course, it helps that we keep each other culpable.

Stick to whatever it is you're committing to- a journey into health, or a journey into friendship.

Jaime @_peonyphotography has a big job ahead of him each time he photographs us, and we (and our egos) couldn't be more grateful.
