Just getting started- squat jumps that had our quads mourning


When it comes to working out, we can definitely say, we're getting pretty close to running the gamut. We see a gym, a new workout, or a fitness trend, and some annoying inner voice insists we try it. That voice nags at us until we do. Hence, today's blog about 9Round- the new gym that's taking over.

As much as Clara and I enjoy a good sweat session, we've always been baffled by those maniacal gym rats who spend hours on end trying to shape up. We'd much rather get in, get crackin, and get out! If you are anything like us, direct your attention to 9Round.

9Round is a kickboxing inspired 30 minute workout that exploits your adrenaline and makes you beg for the 3 min timer to sound. Essentially, the gym is set up with 9 stations, each one with a new exercise that leaves you breathless and weary. In between each station is another form of medieval torture intended to tone and harden you up. From v-sits, to planks and mountain climbers, your muscles will be howling at you for mercy. Seeing as how co-ordination is not always my strong suit, it took some time to learn how to co-ordinate some of the exercises. The speed bag, for example, was not a companion of Clara and I. It involved thinking, counting, and pain in our arms. A glorious and sometimes dangerous combination.



If the trainers weren't there guiding, errr, correcting us, it would have been a much.... different scenario. Kudos to the trainers.

The 30 minute concept is a crafty one. The workouts are not daunting, it takes virtually no time to assassinate an amazing workout, and you can get it all in during your lunch hour, and go back to being the fabulous you that you are. With tighter abs, of course. The stations are never the same, so no matter what day you come in, you'll never have the same workout twice. Marvelous.

The best part? There are no classes! You can come in at any time, start your workout, and leave when you're done. There are no restricting schedules, and no one is trying to rush you out in time for the next wave of hard-core peeps like you. I know, I know, it sounds much too good to be true. Pick up your jaws and know that we simply bring you the truth, people.
